Registered in 1988, the Salmon Arm Downtown Improvement Association was the first Business Improvement Area in British Columbia. Incorporated as society in 1974, the DIA has served downtown business and property owners by coordinating special events, beautification and revitalization projects for over 28 years.
The Salmon Arm Downtown Improvement Association provides leadership in promoting and marketing the town centre, planning and assisting with business development, beautification and property enhancement initiatives in partnership with property owners, retailers, professionals, government and community groups to ensure a strong, vibrant, safe downtown community.
The DIA organizes successful annual event and promotions such as the CPR Holiday Train, Halloween Treat Trail, Feel the Rhythm Downtown Entertainer program, Very important Visitor and the Marley Merchant Christmas Shopping Promotion, to name a few.
