Dee Lake Wilderness Resort has evolved over the past 79 years, from what was known at that time as Dee Lake Rest Camp, to a resort facility combining the original log cabins and lodge (the first one built in 1926) to modern new cottages with all the amenities, all in a remote location surrounded by a pristine wilderness setting.
The original log cabins are clean with comfortable beds, electricity, cold running water, propane cooking and wood burning stoves, with a central shower house.
The new cottages have all the amenities, full kitchens, bathrooms, decks with barbecues, private docks and an unobstructed view.
The resort offers for rent, boats with gas or electric motors, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats, as well as float tube and tackle rentals.
Experience the solitude of a remote lake with the loons, ospreys and eagles, and for your frying pan a freshly caught rainbow trout.
The campground sites are spacious and well treed, each with its own table and fire pit, a limited amount of firewood is provided and the central shower house is nearby.
The DEE Lake Chain consists of four lakes, Dee, Island, Deer and Crooked, the total length is approximately 8 km. If you are canoeing or kayaking a portage into the easterly end of Beaver Lake can extend your experience for a further 5 km. The outlying lakes, of which there are 17 are within a radius of 7 km, and offer the angler the solitude and an opportunity to enjoy nature at its finest.
Our staff has the knowledge to guide you to these fishing spots, as well as to provide you with the necessary equipment to make your visit memorable.
Our accommodation whether it be the rustic log cabin or the new cottages with all the frills. Are all situated and grouped in such a way to lend themselves to family gatherings, reunions, weddings or provide maximum privacy for a romantic weekend getaway.
The following excerpt is taken from one of our brochures from the 1930s and is still valid in the year 2005;
This group of lovely lakes of which Dee Lake is in the centre has long been recognized as one of British Columbia's finest fishing grounds. Set like pearls in the midst of wooded hills of great beauty and connected by waterways and trails, this group of lakes is well stocked to offer the Fisherman the time of his life. The air is invigorating and the calm peacefulness and the sense of remoteness give an impression never to be forgotten
Dee Lake Wilderness Resort is an active member of our community and is supportive of local groups.
