"A Whole New Way to Experience the Okanagan!"
The Kettle Valley Steam Railway is unique in the Okanagan Valley - a place where you can step back in time and experience rail travel as it was almost one hundred years ago. The Kettle Valley Railway built during 1910 - 1915 once stretched from Midway to Hope. Just sixteen kilometres of this historic rail line remain as a living legacy for you to enjoy. Beautiful vistas unfold as you wind your way through Prairie Valley - a quilted patchwork of lush orchards, vineyards and fields of green. Rock cuts and natural landscapes provide another kind of beauty as the train takes you onto the Trout Creek Trestle/Bridge 73 metres above the canyon floor. Powered by a restored 1912 locomotive or a 1924 Shay you can see all from a vintage passenger or open air coach. Games for kids, anecdotes, song and lively musical entertainment make regular runs a memorable experience for the whole family. Our season runs from May to October with special event trains slated for Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween and Christmas. We also offer exciting Great Train Robbery and BBQ events and new for 2006 three evening Summer Sunset Saturday trains.
Stop in to the Trout Creek Trading Co. Gift Shop located at the station where you'll find a variety of rail souvenirs, pioneer toys, books and clothing. Enjoy a snack at the Rail's End Concession and relax outside under the picnic shelter. All facilities are wheelchair accessible. Ample parking is available for cars, RV's and buses. Charters & Large Groups welcome! Reservations recommended for all trains.
