MEDIA RELEASE

GIDDY UP & GO RODEO
THIS SUMMER!

For Immediate Release: May 20, 2008

Looking for some real horsepower to kick-start a summer full of fun? The British Columbia Rodeo Association invites you to attend over 20 BCRA sanctioned rodeo events taking place throughout the province from now until the second weekend in September.

Introducing the most comprehensive rodeo guide in the history of the BCRA, the new 2008 publication also encompasses the province’s High School Rodeo and Little Britches Associations. “We are thrilled to package all of the rodeo information together for the first time,” states publisher Ronda Barzilay. “This guide not only offers readers a complete schedule of events, it also gives valuable insight to the history of the rodeo and its practices. It also features past champions, current season leaders, the top stock performers, and provides a detailed description of the key events for visitors who are new to the rodeo experience.”

Ten thrilling events are the headliners for a weekend of non-stop excitement as highly skilled cowboys and cowgirls compete for cash prizes and bragging rights in the annual rodeo circuit. Whether its cowboys clinging to eight seconds of pure adrenaline on a bucking bronco or a barrel racer chasing a 1/1000th of a second in full gallop around a barrel, time is money in the arena!

And there’s plenty of other entertainment for all ages. Cozy up curbside and watch a parade, dig into a hearty cowboy breakfast, tantalize your taste buds with a sizzling steak, or relax in the beverage gardens between events. Enjoy live entertainment, win prizes, and make it a western weekend this summer!

For more information on communities, dates, and specific events, The BCRA Rodeo Guide is available at select tourism outlets, BCAA offices, and participating advertisers and in a user-friendly interactive format, online now @ www.rodeoBC.com
