Cawston, the Organic Farming capital of Canada, is rich and diverse with vineyards, orchards and produce gardens. The area hosts five wineries and offers visitors a unique wine touring adventure. At Forbidden Fruit Winery, experience tempting quality fruit wines, hand crafted from 100% certified organic fruit from the Similkameen Valley. Situated on Ven’Amour Organic Farms, one of the most picturesque locations by the Similkameen River, guests can enjoy sampling the wines in the tasting room while browsing the art gallery featuring local art. Others may wish to stay a little longer and enjoy the picnic area overlooking the river offering engaging views of the regions fauna and flora.
The farm and winery also offer accommodation in the beautifully appointed Harvest Moon Guesthouse situated on a hillside with breathtaking panoramic views of the valley. The guesthouse is a completely furnished vacation home rental that accommodates 8 people. The guesthouse features all the amenities of home away from home including a screened wrap around deck, and an outdoor hot tub. A wonderful place for couples , families or small group getaways. 2% of guest rental fees are donated to the Land Conservancy of British Columbia.
Along with the guesthouse, the farm is partners with the Land Conservancy of British Columbia (TLC). The farm produces 60 varieties of tree fruits, from soft fruit to apples and pears and wears the TLC butterfly label to represent the farms commitment to stewardship and conservation. Visitors can taste and take home delicious organic tree ripen fruit, juices and jams as well as award winning fruit wines. We welcome everyone!
