Kelowna is an agriculturally rich landscape known for its gardens, fruits, and award winning wines. The Okanagan Lake, and Monashee Mountains provide the scenic backdrop for a wide range of outdoor activities including golf, hiking, mountain biking, water sports, horseback riding, skiing, winery and agricultural tours and many cultural events. Spectacular scenery, pristine lakes, sandy beaches, and blossom‐dusted hillsides are all at your fingertips.
While some may consider Kelowna relatively "undiscovered", it is remarkably easy to get to. Kelowna's International Airport is serviced by Air Canada, Horizon Air, WestJet Airlines and Central Mountain Air offering more than 30 non-stop daily departures to Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto.
Easily accessible by Highway from Vancouver, the drive to Kelowna is approximately four hours and it is seven hours from Calgary. Kelowna's wineries are a favorite draw for visitors. There are 16 wineries in and around the city and over 100 throughout the Okanagan Valley. The spring and the fall Wine Festivals offer many events ‐ from specialty wine tastings and vineyard dinners to cycling tours.
Kelowna provides an opportunity to experience the agricultural diversity of the region. Visitors will enjoy visiting Kelowna Land & Orchard, The Jammery, Elysium Gardens, Falcon Ridge Farms and the Okanagan Lavender Herb Farm. Year‐round recreation is another draw for visitors ‐ from excellent downhill skiing at Big White Ski Resort to golf - with 17 golf courses for all levels and abilites, all within a 35 minute drive from downtown Kelowna.
